Aloe Vera - for cuts, wounds, and scrapes you can use the inner gel of the Aloe Vera plant on your dog. Clean area first then apply to soothe the area.
Manuka Honey - this is a powerful antimicrobial that can be given to your dog to help with gastrointestinal irritation. Start low such as 1/2 teaspoon for small dogs and 1 teaspoon for larger dogs. Look for honey that contains at least a rating of 10 UMF. If you are local, you can get this at Wholi Moli. UMF stands for Unique Manuka Factor and attests to the effectiveness of the antibacterial quality.
Lavender Oil - use quality grade for anxious dogs. Put a few drops of Lavender Essential Oil on Fido's bandana and then tie that bandana to his crate. If he is not going to be in his crate you can tie the bandana to the dog. Do this prior to the anticipated anxious event. Alternatively, you can place a few drops of the oil on Fido's collar - again, prior to the anxious event. Combining therapeutic massage with the oil prior to the anxious event is even more effective.
